Despite sanctions, Belarusian cargo could continue moving through Lithuania until 2023

The first day of sectoral sanctions against Belarus did not reduce the workload of the Lietuvos Geležinkeliai Group (LTG) and Klaipėda Seaport. To the contrary – the companies’ attorneys are hard at work with the document that was announced on Thursday while forwarding and transit continue. The date of June 25, 2021 that the document indicates means that companies will be able to fulfil contracts signed up to this day. LTG’s contract with the largest Belarusian fertiliser manufacturer lasts up until 2023.
