The Cabinet intends to authorize the Economy Ministry to cooperate with the EIF on the creation of the new fund on Monday.

According to plans, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will invest 20 million euros each in the Baltic innovation fund and the EIF will allocate the remaining 40 million euros. Private investors, such as the Baltic pension funds, could also contribute to the new fund.

Final decision on the creation of the Baltic innovation fund is expected to be taken by the end of March. The agreement on the creation of the fund could be signed by September.
