Lietuvos Elektrinė (Lithuanian Power Plant) saw its full-year output decline by 42 percent, to 1.099 billion kWh, from 1.9 billion kWh in 2010. The output of Kruonis Pumped Storage Plant (KPSP) declined by 29 percent, to 534 million kWh, from 750 million kWh in 2010, and the output of Kaunas Hydro Power Plant shrank by 13.5 percent, to 386 million kWh, from 446 million kWh, Jurate Kavaliauskaite, communication head at Lietuvos Energija, told BNS.
According to the data made available by the electricity transmission system operator Litgrid, the Kaunas Hydro Power Plant accounted for more than 35 percent of electricity generated from renewables in the country last year. The output of green electricity last year totaled 1.097 billion kWh.
