Eurovaistinė returns to pre-lockdown rhythm from June 1: pharmacies shut for the lockdown are reopened

When the coronavirus pandemic began, and a lockdown was declared in the country, in order to ensure staff safety, suitable work and resting regimes, some Eurovaistinė pharmacies were temporarily closed. During the lockdown, 250 pharmacies remained in operation, while from Monday, 275 of the country's main pharmacy network's pharmacies will be open.

Eurovaistinė board chairwoman Ingrida Damulienė says that the decision to reduce the number of operational pharmacies proved justified, the number of customers at pharmacies decreased from the second week of lockdown and has yet to return to usual levels.

"From Monday onward, we will work like before the lockdown, with 275 Eurovaistinė pharmacies working, just under a little shorter than usual working hours. We continue to place our primary focus on staff safety and professional customer service. The decision to reopen pharmacies closed at the beginning of the lockdown was made after evaluating the current situation, the virus' spread and upon becoming certain that both staff and customer safety can be ensured while taking this step," I. Damulienė says.

The board chairwoman says she is aware that clients were waiting to once more be able to visit their preferred pharmacies, during this period, the pharmacy chain's customer service centre has received calls and letters, which inquired about when typically visited pharmacies will reopen their doors.

The pharmacies will continue making use of all the safety measures that have become usual during the lockdown, with a continuing focus on staff and customer safety. The pharmacists will continue wearing face masks, face shields, disposable gloves, surfaces will be regularly disinfected. In all pharmacies, customers will be able to find disinfectant liquid for their hands.

Pharmacists note that usual rhythms are resuming, with the Ministry of Healthcare lifting the non-prescription medicine and protective equipment purchase restrictions last week, customers can easier plan their purchases. Pharmacies have resumed offering for their customers' blood pressure tests, offering cosmetics samples, performing facial skin, hair and nutrient tests.

Pharmacy opening times can be found on the company's website: https://www.apie-eurovaistine.lt/vaistiniu-darbo-laikas-karantino-metu/
