Furniture made by Lithuania‘s Medienos Era finds its way to UK stores

The company had to take into consideration the market needs in furniture made not just of expensive oak but also of cheaper birch, stained, varnished, dyed timber veneer, the company’s CEO, Donatas Miničius, told the daily.

“Several years ago, while taking part in furniture exhibitions in Europe, more than a half of manufacturers used to be specialized in the production of oak furniture. This year there was one exhibition with just 5 out of 400 participants manufacturing from oak exclusively,” Miničius said.

Furniture made by Medienos Era is sold in the Laura Ashley retail chain, which operates 220 stores in England and 200 franchised stores all across the world, as well as in the John Lewis chain of 30 outlets.

Medienos Era has until now concluded contracts with 40 trade partners in England, the company’s largest export market.
