According to Brain Games founder and CEO Egils Grasmanis, the decision to move the company’s business into Lithuania by purchasing the Galvosūkių Pasaulis stores is a strategically measured step made by the company, which will elevate both the Lithuanian and the Baltic States’ board game market to a whole new level.

“Galvosūkių Pasaulis has been our reliable partner for more than a decade and you could find products distributed by Brain Games in its stores. We are glad to be able to establish an even closer connection to this experienced team. This way, we grow closer not only to Lithuanian consumers and board– game enthusiasts but also to the fulfilment of our mission – to offer residents of the Baltic States the opportunity to spend time meaningfully, creating even closer bonds with their loved ones.

By combining our strengths, we will be able to continue our exemplary customer service, with the help of the lifetime warranty on all Brain Games products,” says E. Grasmanis.

Making board games into the most popular hobby

According to Brain Games store director in Lithuania – Gintarė Makauskaitė, this merger will grow the popularity of board games across all of the Baltic States and create even more opportunities for customers to experience memorable moments with their loved ones.

“The most popular board games – chess and checkers – can be found in almost every home in the Baltic States. However, our aim is for people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to be able to purchase a bigger variety of board games and for this to become the most popular hobby in the Baltic States. After all, it is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend time with friends and family,” says G. Makauskaitė.

Pandemic also impacts habits

According to Gintarė Makauskaitė, Lithuanians are constantly on the lookout for new board games. But she points out that the pandemic has left an impact on Lithuanian habits.

“Before the Pandemic, you could note one or a few games that drew particular interest, the previous year was entirely different in all senses. It could be said that Lithuanians chose games based on who they live with, and so the most pertinent aspect was the number of players. However, the board game called Pandemic can be highlighted above all others, its topic of fighting a virus was of particular interest to people. It was completely sold out last spring, and the new edition, which reached the stores in December, continues to be actively purchased even today,” says G. Makauskaitė.

Currently, Brain Games offers customers from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania more than 2,000 different products – from various board games and other games to puzzles. Moreover, Brain Games is an international board game publisher with products distributed and sold in more than 40 countries. Last year, Brain Games generated 3.7 million euros in turnover.

The Brain Games now has a total of 15 stores across the Baltic States – 4 in Latvia, 4 in Estonia, and, after the purchase of Galvosūkių Pasaulis, 7 stores in Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Šiauliai).
