Ignalina NPP to buy 10-million-euro-worth electricity from Lithuanian Energy subsidiary in 2013

Lithuania’s shut-down Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) will buy 118 million kWh of electricity from Energijos Tiekimas (Energy Supply), the electricity trading subsidiary of state-owned electricity generation group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) for a total consideration of 36.054 million litas (EUR 10.45m) in 2013.

Energijos Tiekimas had won a respective tender issued by INPP, the official gazette Valstybes Žinios reported. Electricity would be supplied next year.

Energijos Tiekimas supplied electricity to INPP last year as well as this year.

According to the information made available in the Central Public Procurement Portal, Inter RAO Lietuva, Lithuania’s largest electricity supplier, also vied for the contract with a bid worth 36.226 million litas.
