The Internet giant will provide services in Lithuania using DLC's center in Vilnius and part of its optical cable capacities throughout the country, the Lithuanian company has said in a press release on Tuesday.
"For Lithuanian businesses, the international operator's entry means increased competition in the data communication and other Internet service markets. For DLC, it will mean a certain guaranteed market share and revenues, hence more possibilities to expand and provide additional services," said Tomas Vitkus, the CEO of DLC.
DLC and Cogent Communications have signed a 15-year cooperation agreement.
Cogent Communications runs 43 large data centers around the world.
