In his words, a job enables persons in prisons to better prepare for life after they have completed their sentences.
"My objective of coming to this fair is to say that a possibility to work is very important for re-socialization of convicts. My other goal is to tell potential business partners and investors that there are places they can come – we have premises and labor force in companies at penitentiaries," the minister said.
In Lithuania, about 14 percent of convicts are employed, however, "the percentage of those willing and able to work is considerably bigger," Šimašius added.
