In an advertisement of new job openings, published in the press on Saturday, the chain said that the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Vilnius will have 96 rooms and suites, as well as a SPA and conference facilities.
AAA Cathedral Square Hotel CEO Algimantas Smičius told BNS that a final opening date has not been set yet. He would not disclose the amount of investment.
The opening of the hotel in the Old Town of Vilnius has been repeatedly delayed.
It had been initially announced that the Kempinski hotel would open in a building located at the intersection of Universiteto Street and L.Stuokos-Gucevičiaus Street in 2007, but the opening date was later pushed back several times. The group has given no public explanation for the delay.
AAA Cathedral Square Hotel, a company of the AAA Group, the developer of the hotel in Lithuania, has said that the Kempinski Hotel in Vilnius aims to become one of the most competitive health and business tourism centers in Eastern Europe.
Construction began in late 2005. It was announced that AAA would invest more than 110 million litas (EUR 32 m) into renovating and turning the 19-century building into a hotel.
Founded in 1897, Kempinski Hotels is said to be one of Europe's oldest luxury hotel groups. The chain has 73 hotels in 31 countries.
