Klaipėda Oil prevented from signing LNG terminal link contract

Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipėda Oil) will not be able, at least for a time being, to sign a contract worth more than 100 million litas (EUR 30m) with a consortium of two Lithuanian companies for the construction of a gas pipeline that will link a planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Klaipėda to the country's grid.

The Public Procurement Office put the signing of the contract on hold last week, Aušra Pocienė of the office told BNS on Tuesday.

"We stopped the contract award procedure. This means that Klaipėdos Nafta cannot sign the contract. We are now waiting for documents from Klaipėdos Nafta and are assessing the procurement," she said.
