Lietuvos Energija in Brussels’ crosshair – state support could have been illegal

On June 3, the European Commission declared that it launched an inquiry on potentially illegal aid granted by Lithuania to the state owned energy group Lietuvos Energija. A negative European Commission ruling could, in the worst case, threaten Lithuania with trials and compensation of losses.
