“We do not intend to invite external investors. It should be made clear – Achemos Grupė will not be sold,” Lubienė said in a press release on Friday.
Lubienė urges the shareholders of Achemos Grupė to support the establishment of an independent board, which could successfully develop a strategy for the company.
According to data provided by the Center of Registers, Lubienė has owned 31 percent of shares in Achemos Grupė since 6 December 2011. The remaining 31 percent, owned Lubys who died at the end of October, have not been transferred to her yet.
The company has 13 shareholders, including Lubys’ grandson, Adomas Zadeika (0.5 percent stake). Apart from Lubienė, other major shareholders include Jonas Sirvydis and Marija Kaminskienė (7 pct each).
Achemos Grupė, which was established in 2001, owns several dozens of companies operating in Lithuania and abroad, including fertilizer manufacturer Achema, the largest stevedoring company Klasco, fertilizer producer Agrochema, means of mass media and hotels, a wind park in Western Lithuania, etc.
Majority stake
Lyda Lubiene holds a majority stake in Achemos Grupė, the country's biggest business conglomerate, the group's president Arūnas Laurinaitis confirmed to BNS.
Lubiene owns more than 50 percent of shares in Achemos Grupė and Monika Zadeikienė, Lubys' elder daughter, holds a stake of just over 11 percent, he said.
Lubys, who was one of Lithuania's richest business people, owned 62 percent of shares in Achemos Grupė.
"All small shareholders remain unchanged," Laurinaitis said.
