Lithuania's Atrama starts LPG tank exports to Peru

The first batch of 500 automotive gas tanks manufactured by Lithuania's Atrama are being installed at a car service in Peru, with a second batch to be delivered to South America in marine containers this month, the business daily Verslo Žinios reports.

The buyers, who had earlier purchased Lithuanian-made tanks through suppliers in Italy, have now decided to buy the products directly from the producer, it wrote.

Atrama, which is based in Lithuania's second-biggest city Kaunas, exports around 70 percent of its automotive gas tanks, mostly to EU countries. Even though Polish LPG tank manufacturers are Atrama's main EU competitors, the company plans to ship 1,500 units to the neighboring country this month alone.

Automotive gas tanks account for 60 percent of Atrama's production. The company also manufactures household gas cylinders, central heating boilers, water heaters and heat accumulators.
