Economy Minister Birutė Vėsaitė initially told BNS that the board of the company had been reshuffled on Monday. However, later she said that she had not signed an order on the new VAE board yet. Asked by BNS whether it had been decided to reshuffle the board of the company, she said yes.
“Such a decision has been made, but the candidacies have not yet been decided on” Vėsaitė told BNS.
Meanwhile, sources told BNS that Rymantas Juozaitis, former CEO of Lithuania’s liquidated national energy company Leo LT, had been appointed to the board of VAE.
The members newly elected to the company’s board also reportedly include Marius Busilas, who started working as Deputy Economy Minister from Monday, as well as Deputy Energy Minister Algimantas Zaremba and Virginija Sirevičienė. VAE CEO, Rimantas Vaitkus, and Mantas Zalatorius, an independent member, reportedly remained on the board of VAE.
The Economy Ministry owns 100 percent of VAE shares.
