LLK has recently said in a statement to the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius stock exchange that it has concluded agreements on the sale of the vessels.

"The vessels shall be handed over to the buyers in May- June 2012. These inefficient vessels are being sold as part of the company's efforts to improve its results from the main activity," it said.

The Klaipėda-based company had a fleet of 11 vessels at the end of last year, including eight reefer vessels and three container vessels.

LLK's first-quarter profit fell to 4.2 million litas (EUR 1.2 m), down from 9.6 million litas in the same period last year, as revenues slumped down by 39 percent year-on-year to 17.5 million litas.

Its annual losses last year surged to 44.354 million litas, up 44.2 percent from 30.846 million litas in 2010.

The shipping company is quoted on the Current List of the Vilnius stock exchange.
