German auditors checked the Panevėžys-based company and assessed its work over the course of three days several weeks ago.
It appeared that the mufflers manufactured by Metalistas LT are the only ones in the world capable of damping the so-called pink noise, which gets stronger as frequencies go lower.
“Only 5 percent of MAN’s suppliers have got such high evaluation marks. Previously our orders from MAN were much smaller. But now we will become one of their two main suppliers,” Mantas Gudas, Metalistas LT CEO, told the daily.
The Lithuanian company manufactures mufflers weighing between 2 and 5 tons. Metalistas LT has already forwarded the first batch of those mufflers, designed for installation in ships, to Germany.
