Lithuania’s new car lease market grows 36 percent in January

A total of 475 new cars were sold through lease-to-own arrangements in Lithuania in January, up 36 percent from 348 cars in the same period last year, Autotyrimai said on Friday.

Leasing last month accounted for 43 percent of all new car purchases in Lithuania, up by 9 percentage points form January 2011, the market research company said.

SEB Lizingas (SEB Leasing) was the number one new car leasing company in January, with 30 percent of the market, followed by Swedbank Lizingas with 26 percent in second place and by Nordea Finance Lithuania with 18 percent in third place.

A total of 1,106 new cars were sold in Lithuania in January, according to Autotyrimai.
