Lithuania’s Energy Ministry had reproached both to Nukem and the bank, but the European Commission (EC) appeared inclined to support Nukem.
The fate of funding for almost all Lithuania’s energy projects would depend on the Commission.
Nukem Technologies, a contractor in one of INPP decommissioning projects, is owned by Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of Russia’s nuclear technology concern Rosatom.
Nukem, although satisfied that the company would get more money, still needs to confirm its claims to the Lithuanian government officially.
