The number of new cars registered in Lithuania increased by 6 percent in January through February year-on-year to 1,875, and in Latvia by 8 percent to 1,690 cars. Estonian market remained the largest in the region, with registrations up 21 percent to 2,461 cars.

In February, year-on-year, Lithuania's new car registrations dropped by 7 percent to 864 units.

Demand for new cars in Europe fell by 8 percent in the first two months to 1.9 million, mostly due to a drop of around 20 percent in sales in France and Italy.

ACEA provides data on vehicle sales in the European Union and Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
