Lithuanian consumers grow slightly more confident

Consumer confidence index in Lithuania rose by 1 point, to 71 points, in the second quarter of this year from the previous quarter, the market researcher Nielsen said in a report.

Lithuania and Estonia shared the 41st position among 56 countries surveyed for consumer confidence in the second quarter. Consumer confidence index in Estonia went down by 1 point between April and June.

Latvia ranked 43rd with the consumer confidence index at 70 points (down by 1 pt).

Confidence indexes among 56 countries surveyed ranged from 120 points in Indonesia (up by 2 pts), 118 points in India, 116 points in the Philippines, 115 points in Saudi Arabia, and 111 points in Malaysia to 41 points in Italy, 42 points in Portugal, and 30 points in Hungary.

The global consumer confidence index fell by 3 points, to 91 points, in the reporting period.

Nielsen polled 28,000 Internet users in 56 countries between 4 and 21 May.
