“Now we have 120 renovation decisions approved. In addition to that, 28 local authorities have submitted 340 renovation investment projects. However, actual works will begin in the spring of 2014. We could hardly expect any high-quality results if we were to start renovation in winter. If there is enough labor …, large-scale renovation will begin in spring,” Daiva Matonienė said in an interview to the Lietuvos Žinios daily.
She said that she would want to have 500 apartment buildings renovated each year. In the beginning, the new stage of renovation initiative would include 839 buildings.
A total of 720 apartment buildings, or 2.1 percent of all buildings eligible for renovation, took part in the renovation program of 2005-2008.
