The economy expanded to 28.64 billion litas in the second quarter, up by 2.2 percent year-on-year and up by 8.6 percent quarter-on-quarter, slightly up from the previous estimates of 2.1 percent and 8.5 percent, respectively.
Statistics Lithuania said that it revised the second-quarter GDP estimate upwards after more comprehensive and more exact statistical data on construction, services, and taxes came in.
The strongest year-on-year growth in the second quarter was recorded in information and communications, at 7.6 percent, agriculture, forestry, and fishing, at 6.7 percent, real estate operations, at 4.8 percent, construction, at 3.8 percent, and trade, hotels, and restaurants, transport, storage, and communications services, at 3.2 percent.
