Leasing companies last year reduced provisions and asset impairment charges by 138.234 million litas, which had a major impact on their profit growth. In 2010, they set aside 131.574 million litas in provisions.
Aggregate sales revenues last year rose by 3.5 percent to 611.314 million litas. Revenues from typical business operations dropped by 7.9 percent to 301.68 and accounted for 49.3 percent of their total revenues, down from 55.4 percent in 2010.
Revenues from financial and investment activities surged by 43.4 percent to 223.317 million litas, or 36.5 percent of the total revenues, up from 26.4 percent the previous year. Revenues from other activities fell by 17 percent to 81.366 million litas, or 13.3 percent of the total revenues.
The total value of financial leasing contracts last year declined by a further 9.4 percent to 4.794 billion litas.
Twelve companies provided leasing services in Lithuania at the end of last year, down from 13 companies a year earlier.
