M-1 tops Lithuanian radio rankings

M-1 was the most popular radio station in Lithuania last fall, according to a survey conducted by the market researcher TNS LT.

The commercial radio station held an 18.1-percent share of the country’s radio audience in terms of average daily reach in September through November (unchanged from spring). LRT, the radio channel of the Lithuanian public broadcaster, ranked second with a 17.7 percent share (down by 0.4 percentage points from spring).

M-1 also held 35.4 percent of radio audience in terms of weekly reach (down from 35.8 pct in spring). The respective share of LRT edged down to 25.1 percent, from 25.8 percent in spring.

In terms of listening time, LRT held a 19 percent share (up from 18.9 pct in spring) and was followed by M-1 with 16.6 percent (up from 15.5 pct in spring) and by Lietus with 12.9 percent (down from 13.9 pct).

TNS LT surveyed 2,656 Lithuanians aged 12–74 on 27 August through 25 November.

More than 30 radio stations operate in Lithuania.
