Magazine publishes top ten list of most beneficial Lithuanian companies

The grocer Maxima LT, the fertilizer manufacturer Achema, and the telecoms operator Teo LT have brought the most benefit to Lithuania and its people this year, according to a survey carried out by the weekly magazine Veidas.

Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways), Lietuvos Dujos (Lithuanian Gas), or Orlen Lietuva are no longer on the list because their dominant market position makes it much easier for the monopolists to win titles, the magazine says.

Palink, the operator of the grocery chain Iki, is ranked fourth, followed by the starch manufacturer Amilina in fifth place. Further down the list are the integrated agricultural investment company Linas Agro and two telecoms operators, Omnitel and Bitė Lietuva. Vakarų Laivų Gamykla (Western Shipyard) shares tenth position with the pet food producer Mars Lietuva, which is part of the global food group Mars.
