"Nortal's Lithuanian expansion is in line with the group's aspiration to become the first Baltic software development services company to float its shares on the stock exchange," Nortal CEO Arnoldas Jankūnas said in a press release.
Under a letter of intent signed between Nortal and the Lithuanian Economy Ministry on 19 June, the company is to be allocated up to 15 million litas in EU support funds.
Nortal, which has among its customers large telecommunications, energy, finance, and public sector companies, plans to recruit more than 100 IT project managers, analysts, and programmers.
Some 70 to 80 newly-employed professionals in Vilnius and Kaunas will be engaged in the company's projects in Estonia and Finland, as well as in Oman and Qatar and African countries.
As part of its plans to double its business in the next two to three years, the Nortal Group expects to create around 350 new jobs at its companies in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, and Romania, thus increasing its total workforce to 1,000 employees.
