"The duty of industrialists as an important voice of the Lithuanian business community is to maintain an active dialogue with authorities and to strive for a better, clear and stable business environment," Dargis said at the confederation's extraordinary congress in Vilnius.
Dargis defeated Visvaldas Matijošaitis, CEO of the Vičiūnai Group, in the election for the post, the confederation said.
Gediminas Rainys, vice-president of the confederation, had served as acting president since the unexpected death of Bronislovas Lubys, president and majority owner of Achemos Grupė, last October.
The confederation is seen as the most influential business organization in Lithuania.
