Other bidders include LitCon, which is fully owned by Estonia-established Viabalt Invest, as well as Požeminiai Darbai, BioWaste Technologies, Energesman, Groslita and Manfula, according to Rimantas Šerkšnas, an advisor to VAATC director.
The qualifications of the bidders had not been evaluated yet, he said. Earlier Šerkšnas projected that the winner of the tender might be announced in June.
Nerijus Mikalajūnas, a spokesman for Icor, which owns property maintenance, waste management and biofuel companies, told BNS that the concern would not make any comments as to its participation in the tender.
“The concern does not make any comments about the tender,” he told BNS.
The engineering, construction and equipment of the facility may cost up to 119 million litas and its operation services may cost up to 545.5 million litas over a twenty-year period. The facility, which will be located close to the marketplace in Gariūnai, should be built by June 2014.
Icor is related with Dalkia-owned Vilniaus Energija (Vilnius Energy), Lithuania’s biggest heat supplier that is considered a monopoly in the heat sector of the Lithuanian capital.
