Some money from Cyprus banks may come to Lithuania

Lithuania's Financial Crime Investigation Service (FCIS) says that there is a high probability that some of money from Cypriot banks will land in Lithuania or Latvia, the daily Lietuvos Rytas reports.

"We have informed banks in Lithuania about this, so that they are ready," Kęstutis Jucevičius, the director of the FCIS, told the paper.

Jucevičius said that Russians, Belarusians, and Ukrainians with accounts in Cyprus will now look to move their funds to the Baltic countries.

"Being an EU country where many people speak Russian, we are quite an attractive market for them," he said.
