Tele2 held 38 percent of Lithuania’s mobile market

Lithuania's mobile operator Tele2 held 38 percent of domestic mobile market, as measured by revenues, in the fourth quarter of 2012, unchanged from the third quarter, the communications regulatory authority (RRT) reported.

Its rivals, Omnitel and Bite, held 32 percent (unchanged from Q3) and 27 percent (down from 28 pct in Q3) of the market, respectively, the regulator said in its e-communications report for the fourth quarter of 2012.

The combined revenues of all operators totaled 221.27 million litas (EUR 64.14 mln) between October and December, down 5.7 percent from 234.75 million litas in the third quarter of 2012.

The revenues on voice calls (excluding roaming) comprised 71.9 percent of the total revenue, the revenues on roaming calls, 11.3 percent, the revenues on data transmission services, 7.6 percent, and the revenues on messaging services, 7.2 percent.
