"The goodwill impairment charge in Omnitel is based on a decrease of the total value of the Lithuanian mobile market related to competition and price pressure," the company said in a press release.
It added that the goodwill impairment charge would be reported in its second-quarter consolidated financial statements.
TeliaSonera said earlier that it would seek to stabilize prices for Omnitel's communications services after a recent decline.
The group owns 100 percent of shares in Omnitel and holds an 84.6 percent stake in Teo LT, Lithuania's biggest integrated telecoms, IT, and TV services company.
