The companies so far are wary of making bigger investments in IT and IT applications and the European Union’s (EU) support earmarked for 2007-2013 is running out, the daily reports. IT companies are concerned that the market might get stagnant until new European projects get up and running.
Programming services were now purchased by the public sector or large privately-owned companies whereas the majority of companies tended to buy ready commercial products, Vytautas Mielkus, business development manager at Elsis, told the daily. Tomas Milaknis, CEO of IT solutions company Alna Group, pointed out that the private sector seemed wary of large purchases.
“The companies are more focused on the maintenance and repairs of their IT park instead of its upgrade. Purchases still do not get back to the pre-crisis level,” Milaknis said.
