The unemployment level eased by 1.2 points in the second quarter from the first quarter.
Quarter-on-quarter, unemployment among men declined by 1.2 points to 15.3 percent and unemployment among women was down by 1.1 points to 11.3 percent.
The urban unemployment rate edged down by 0.8 points over the quarter to 10.4 percent and the rural unemployment rate fell by 1.8 points to 20.5 percent.
The unemployment rate among young people aged between 15 and 24 in the second quarter stood at 25.2 percent, down by 3.5 points quarter-on-quarter and down by 8.4 points year-on-year.
According to the survey, the number of unemployed people dropped by 15,800, or 6.8 percent, over the quarter to 215,100. Year-on-year, it went down by 40,500 people, or 15.8 percent.
The long-term unemployment rate in the second quarter was 6.4 percent, down 0.9 points from the previous quarter.
Lithuania's unemployment level in the second quarter was lower than in Latvia, at 16.1 percent, but higher than in Estonia, at 10.2 percent, according to data from the Baltic statistics offices.
Unemployment in Estonia declined by 1.3 in the second quarter from the first quarter, and unemployment in Latvia was down by 0.2 points.
