Vilnius and Tallinn stock exchanges outperform many Eastern European peers

The NASDAQ OMX stock exchanges in Vilnius and Tallinn have outperformed many Eastern European peers in terms of return so far this year, the analysts of Swedbank, Lithuania’s leading commercial bank, have said in the Baltic equities first-quarter update issued on Thursday.

Tallinn Stock Exchange is up by 16 percent so far this year, and Vilnius Stock Exchange by 13 percent in euro terms, the report says.

“Strong free cash flows have allowed for high dividends” and “we estimate five of the ten companies in the Baltic 10 index to have dividend yields above 5 percent.”

“With the positive outlook, strong balance sheets and still low valuations, we continue to see a lot of upside in the Baltic markets,” the report says.
