Ekipažas is raising its fare to 2.2 litas (EUR 0.64) per kilometer as of 1 July, from the current 1.8 litas.
"We have a great number of bookings. That's why we decided to increase the fares," Ekipažas CEO Andrej Plisko told BNS.
Standart Taksi also raised its fare by 0.40 litas earlier in June, to 2.3 litas from 1.9 litas. The firm's CEO, Ričardas Kriukovas, cited increased costs and bookings as the reason for the hike.
Other taxi operators are reluctant to speak about fares, saying that they will react to the situation.
"There is some talk about raising fares, but nobody says anything definite," Romualdas Bieliauskas, director of Sosveta, an association of the capital's taxi operators, and the CEO of the taxi firm Romerta, told BNS.
Eurotaksi CEO Arūnas Palekas said that the firm leaves it to drivers to decide if to raise their fares.
