EU member state flags to be hoisted outside Lithuanian parliament during EU Council presidency

Flags of EU member states and candidate countries will be hoisted outside the main building of the Lithuanian Seimas for the entire period of the Lithuanian EU presidency from July 1 until December 31.

Special interior details are also being created for the parliamentary dimension of the EU presidency. Guests of the Seimas will be introduced to key events related to the creation of the State of Lithuania, the country's parliamentary history, the development of the Lithuanian nation, and historic ties with Europe, the Seimas Public Relations Unit said in a statement on Monday.

10 EU presidency-related events will be held at the Seimas, with the first planned on July 4 when the parliament will hold a solemn plenary sitting to mark the launch of the Lithuanian EU presidency.
