According to the press release, the individuals were taken to custody for minor offenses in the run-up and during a match between Žalgiris Vilnius and Lech Poznan soccer clubs.
A minor conflict between fans of the two clubs occurred next to the Gate of Dawn in central Vilnius, but was soon neutralized by the police.
In fears of fierce behavior of Polish football fans, the police was on alert on Thursday night in Vilnius.
According to delfi.lt news portal, about 500 Polish fans, who are notorious for being among the fiercest football fans in Central Europe, came to the Lithuanian capital for the match.
The Police Department said over 30 Polish officers had been called to assistance to secure peace.
The Vilnius club won the match 1:0.
Seven minor violations
Seven episodes of violations of administrative law were reported during Thursday's football match between Lech Poznan and Žalgiris Vilnius, the Police Department reports.
Fans were punished for public drinking and petty hooliganism, however, no major disturbances were reported.
