This year's season will kick off with the arrival of the Portuguese-flagged Princess Daphne on 12 May and will be wrapped by the Bahamas-flagged National Geographic Explorer on 17 September, Irina Novikova of the Klaipėda port authority told BNS.

Forty-five cruise ships are expected to visit Klaipėda during this season, nine ships more than last year. The total number of cruise passengers should rise by 53 percent to around 33,000, from 21,000 in 2011.
