Lithuanian court upholds acquittal of late Andrius Ūsas in pedophilia case

Vilnius Regional Court on Wednesday upheld acquittal of late Andrius Ūsas of Kaunas who was charged with molesting a minor, rejecting an appeal by the Children's Rights Division of Vilnius City Municipality.

On November 30, Vilnius 2nd District Court acquitted Ūsas of having molested the daughter of late Kaunas resident Drąsius Kedys and Laimutė Stankūnaitė. The court ruled that the small girl was specially-trained by her farther to speak about molestation in a video.

Ūsas was killed in a quadricycle accident in June 2010.

"There are no signs of criminal acts in Ūsas' actions," Vilnius Regional Court ruled.
