After receiving cycling instructions from world champion Krupeckaitė, Kubilius pedaled a few symbolic laps around the Cido Arena track, which will host European Championships this fall.

"This was my first time on the track. The impression is incredible," Kubilius told BNS, adding that Panevėžys was Lithuania's track cycling capital.

"I believe Krupeckaitė will do well. We wish her all the success, we will keep our fingers crossed and we think she can compete for the highest awards," the prime minister added.

Kubilius, a cycling enthusiast, is currently on a 600-km cycling trip Turn Right with his fellow conservatives. The participants have already covered more than half of the distance.
