Six lives lost on Lithuanian roads over past week

Six people were killed in traffic accidents in Lithuania over the past week, the Lithuanian Traffic Police Service informs.

Among the casualties are two drivers, two cyclists, and two pedestrians, of whom five are men and one woman.

According to preliminary information, 81 traffic accidents involving human casualties or injuries were registered between 20 and 26 July. Some 97 people including 19 children and teenagers were injured.

According to preliminary data, drunk drivers were involved in five accidents that left seven people injured.

A total of 141 people including seven children and teenagers were killed in traffic accidents in Lithuania by Friday, indicating a drop by 12 persons year-on-year. Among the casualties are 55 drivers, four motorcyclists, 35 pedestrians, 33 passengers, and three moped drivers.
