Three Dutch citizens detained in Vilnius for removing flag

Vilnius police has detained thee Dutch citizens who removed a Vilnius City Municipality flag near the Town Hall and tried to take it with them. The incident was recorded on CCTV.

According to the Police Department, the incident took place at 4.11 a.m. on Friday morning. Three men, aged 25-41, were detained carrying the flag with burn marks on the staff. They were questioned by police, received fines of 150 litas (43 euros) each and were released.

The trio are members of a rugby team who came to Vilnius to play a match.

Last May, two members of a Dutch rugby team were detained in Vilnius for exposing their genitals in a park.
