A Vilnius cocktail bar called Moscow may face a fine for advertising a Halloween party using Soviet symbols and portraits of Stalin and Lenin, officially banned in Lithuania, the Vilniaus Diena daily reports.

The bar organized a party titled Soviet Halloween, with posters published on Facebook featuring Stalin, a red five-pinted star with a hammer and sickle, and Lenin.

Another poster, which was published on 28 October, pictured Lenin with horns and four red stars.

“We're now registering the act and will work to identify the publisher of these images. The police will then send a protocol and all evidence to a court, which will then set a fine," Gediminas Vidžiūnas of Vilnius police said.

Under the law, the use of the Soviet hammer and sickle, red Soviet five-pointed star, images of Nazi Germany and Soviet Communist leaders responsible for repressions of the people of Lithuania in meetings or other public events carries a fine of 500-1,000 litas (EUR 145-290).
