Birutė Davidonytė. The Lithuanian cabinet is eroding democracy through your money

Last week, a court ruling was made that the cabinet was in breach of journalists’ right to receive, gather and disseminate information when almost two years ago, it refused to release and later also destroyed recordings of a meeting. However, in fact, this court ruling is not about journalists, it is about far larger and more important things. Having destroyed the recording, the cabinet firstly breached the right we all have to know. And this way, fundamental proof was presented that in our country, we have a cabinet and prime minister who are in breach of fundamental principles of democracy.
