Coronavirus crisis: why is G. Nausėda not on the front lines?

With the coronavirus spreading in Lithuania and the situation becoming increasingly serious, some have found President Gitanas Nausėda’s participation in resolving the situation to be lacking. Political scientists emphasise that the head of state’s powers are rather limited in this case, the decision making centre being the cabinet. Nevertheless, some experts believe that the president’s word could have significance, just that so far this hasn’t been done.
