Dialogue with Russia in the name of peace in Europe, OSCE for the Belarus crisis: are E. Macron’s proposals meaningful?

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the most realistic mechanism to begin a mediation process in resolving the Belarus crisis, but this organisation is rarely effective, experts say. Europe could try to allow Russia to act as a mediator, which pressures Alexander Lukashenko and thus could recover its lost reputation after the Crimean occupation. Because in Western Europe the opinion prevails that Russia must be returned to the negotiation table.
