Forecast for the 2020 Seimas elections: favourable conditions for the Conservatives

During the Laisvės Piknikas [Freedom Picnic] discussion "Who and why should rule Lithuania from 2020?", political scientist Kęstutis Girnius predicted that in the first round of the coming Seimas elections, the most votes could go to the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats. Nevertheless, they will continue to struggle in the single mandate districts.

The parties presented their priorities in the discussion. Member of Seimas, Lithuanian Social Democratic Labour Party (LSDDP) deputy chair Irena Šiaulienė stated that the party is most concerned with creating a welfare state.
