According to the Press Service of the President, Gustas had somehow not received the invitation to the meeting. The date for a new meeting has not been set yet.
On Monday, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius announced that he had proposed Gustas as candidate for economy minister to the president.
Until last Friday, Gustas was the chancellor at the Ministry of the Interior.
Last Wednesday, Grybauskaitė signed a decree on the dismissal of Social Democratic Economy Minister Birutė Vėsaitė amid a suspected conflict of interests.
