Meanwhile Gustas says, after the meeting with President Dalia Grybauskaitė on Monday morning, that they share the same views about the priorities that should be pursued by the Economy Ministry.

Gustas has told reporters that his priorities include Lithuania’s EU Council presidency and improvements in business climate.

“Of course, we spoke about the challenges for the economy, for the Economy Ministry, and we discussed those issues… We share the same views that our primary task is successful EU Council presidency, in particular the Competitiveness Council. Next are the improvements in business climate, that is improvements in governance and speeding up of these tasks,” Gustas told reporters.

“The President will take the decision in the near future,” Daiva Ulbinaitė, an adviser to Grybauskaitė, said.
